Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo wants to join Chelsea because of Manchester United

REAL MADRID star Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wants to join Chelsea because he knows Manchester United are not interested in snapping him up.
Ronaldo could leave Real Madrid this month with the Portugal international supposedly desperate to quit La Liga.

The 32-year-old was determined to leave the Bernabeu in the summer after being accused of tax evasion by the authorities.

A transfer still seems to be on his mind with Ronaldo managing just four La Liga goals all season, drawing a blank in his latest appearance against Celta Vigo last night.

And Spanish outlet Don Balon claim Ronaldo is determined to join Chelsea from Real Madrid this month.

The Blues have emerged as surprising suitors for the veteran.

Eden Hazard’s future is up in the air with Real reportedly keen to make him their Ronaldo replacement.

Should Hazard go, it will leave Blues boss Antonio Conte short of a world-class star.

And Don Balon say Chelsea want Ronaldo and could even use Hazard as bait to bring the Portugal international back to England.

Ronaldo is said to be aware that United are not interested in an emotional Old Trafford return.

Jose Mourinho fell out with the player during his time at Real and their rocky relationship complicates matters.

United have also been used twice by Ronaldo in the past, with the 32-year-old using their interest to negotiate new Madrid contracts in 2013 and 2015.

Real’s tricky relationship with the Red Devils also means chances of a transfer are remote.

United refused to let them have David De Gea nearly three years ago and, in turn, Real stopped the Premier League giants from signing Alvaro Morata.

Morata instead ended up at Chelsea where he has since scored 12 goals in all competitions.
